Slurry Separation

In Slurry Separation, the Dryer the better…

No matter your slurry separation project, one point always rings true: the dryer the material being separated, the easier it is to process, and the more results. With this in mind, we present the ultimate companion for the S-Force 1000 – The VacEvap Solids Control Booster.

The VacEvap turbocharges the S-Force 1000’s already strong slurry separation capabilities by providing cuttings that are 30-50% dryer, freer flowing on shaker screens and much easier to dispose of, making for faster, cleaner slurry processing operations. The VacEvap:

  • Reduces fluid retention
  • Enhances and lengthens the life of your shaker screens
  • Improves drilling fluid condition
  • Minimizes environmental impact
  • Can be attached to up to three slurry separators at once
The VacEvap has a small footprint, has fully adjustable suction and discharge times, and can be connected to up to three S-Force 1000 units with a single air supply. Nothing in the industry beats the performance of the S-Force 1000 when combined with the VacEvap Booster.

Installation and Use

The VacEvap Pan is installed under the last screen or mounted externally onto a Slurry Separator like the S-Force 1000. From there, a suction hose is connected to the VacEvap vacuum unit. The compressed air from an air compressor or the rig air supply is required to create suction on the last screen surface, pulling additional fluid off the cuttings. The VacEvap is built to reduce the liquid on cuttings by 30-50%.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vac-Evap Solids Control?

Vac-Evap Solids Control is a process used to manage and reduce the solid content in slurry by combining vacuum and evaporation techniques. It helps to effectively separate and concentrate solids from the liquid phase, improving waste management and resource recovery.

How does the Vac-Evap Solids Control process work?

The process works by applying a vacuum to the slurry, which lowers the boiling point of the liquid, allowing it to evaporate at lower temperatures. The solids are then concentrated as the liquid evaporates, making it easier to handle and dispose of the remaining waste.

What industries benefit from using Vac-Evap Solids Control?

Industries such as oil and gas, mining, wastewater treatment, and industrial manufacturing benefit from Vac-Evap Solids Control. It is especially useful in applications where reducing the volume of waste or recovering valuable solids is important.

What are the advantages of using Vac-Evap Solids Control over traditional methods?

Vac-Evap Solids Control offers advantages such as lower energy consumption, higher separation efficiency, reduced waste disposal costs, and the ability to recover valuable resources from the slurry. It also minimizes the environmental impact of waste management.

Can Vac-Evap Solids Control be integrated into existing slurry management systems?

Yes, Vac-Evap Solids Control can be integrated into existing slurry management systems to enhance separation efficiency and reduce the overall volume of waste. It can work in conjunction with other processes like mechanical separation or chemical treatment.

What types of slurries can be treated using Vac-Evap Solids Control?

Vac-Evap Solids Control is suitable for various types of slurries, including those with high solid content, fine particles, or challenging chemical compositions. It is often used for slurries generated in industrial and environmental applications.

How does Vac-Evap Solids Control improve waste management?

By concentrating the solids in the slurry, Vac-Evap Solids Control reduces the volume of liquid waste, making it easier and more cost-effective to dispose of. It also allows for the recovery of valuable materials that can be reused or sold.

What maintenance is required for a Vac-Evap Solids Control system?

Regular maintenance includes checking for vacuum leaks, cleaning the evaporation unit, monitoring temperature and pressure settings, and inspecting mechanical components for wear. Proper maintenance ensures optimal performance and prolongs the system’s lifespan.

Is Vac-Evap Solids Control energy-efficient?

Yes, the process is designed to be energy-efficient by using a vacuum to reduce the boiling point of the liquid, allowing evaporation to occur at lower temperatures. This approach lowers energy consumption compared to traditional thermal evaporation methods.

What are the environmental benefits of using Vac-Evap Solids Control?

The process helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills, lowers the risk of environmental contamination, and allows for the recovery of valuable resources. It also minimizes the carbon footprint associated with waste disposal and resource extraction.
